Pforzheim – 21 May 2019 – PROVERTHA expanded its portfolio of compact M8 connection solutions to versions in stainless steel (V4A) with A-coding and crimp connection technology (AWG 26 – 22). The 360 ° shielded M8 connectors with protection IP67sind ideal for demanding applications in Industrial Ethernet networks such as EtherCAT. With its high robustness and vibration and torsional strength they provide reliable, functionally reliable Ethernet connection and interference-free data transmission.
The new 3- and 4-pin Pin and Socket versions with machined crimp contacts are designed specifically for demanding applications in the medical and food industries. But even in clean room environments industry and off-shore applications, the V4A M8 connectors are used. Other applications that benefit from the advantages of the new M8 connectors punching machines or robot applications in industrial automation, with high requirements for shock, vibration and torsional strength.
In equipment, machinery and equipment in the food industry and medical high demands on components and materials in terms of protection, cleanliness, corrosion resistance and hygiene are provided. In the machine cleaning detergents and disinfectants are often used, which can cause corrosion. The same applies to off-shore environments with aggressive salt water. With the new M8 connectors in stainless steel comes PROVERTHA these special requirements. The connectors can be washed with common cleaning agents and are resistant to corrosion.
The full metal housing provides protection against disturbances and high mechanical stress in harsh environments. Due to the compact dimensions reliable connections can be realized even in tight spaces. The M8 connectors are easily assembled in the field thanks to simple installation and a few components. The plastics used are certified for railway applications in accordance with EN 45545-2. Other features are a rated current of 4 A, at least 200 mating cycles and a temperature range of -20 ° C to + 85 ° C.
