Three-way collaboration showcases platform integration, real-time telemetry and system management readiness, accelerating CPO deployment into rack-scale AI infrastructure
San Jose, CA — October 13, 2026— Wiwynn, an innovative cloud IT infrastructure provider for data centers, Ayar Labs, the leader in co-packaged optics (CPO) solutions for AI scale-up, and Global Unichip Corp. (GUC), the Advanced ASIC Leader, today announced the latest milestone in their strategic collaboration. For the first time, they are presenting a live demonstration at OCP Global Summit 2026, showcasing Wiwynn’s compute system integrating GUC’s ASIC with Ayar Labs’ TeraPHY™ optical engine paired with SuperNova™ light source, streaming real-time health telemetry.
This demonstration marks a significant step forward from the companies’ previous rack-level architecture collaboration, advancing to platform integration and functional validation. The system integrates GUC’s multi-chip packages (MCPs) with TeraPHY™ optical engines (OEs), powered by the Ayar Labs SuperNova™ light source. In this live demo, telemetry is continuously polled from the OEs within the MCPs and displayed in real time, proving the optical link is up inside the system. As the tuning subsystem tracks thermal and wavelength drift, key signal quality metrics hold steady, validating the system’s real-world operational readiness.
“AI infrastructure is rapidly evolving toward an optically connected future,” said William Lin, President and CEO of Wiwynn. “This deeper integration with Ayar Labs and GUC, proving that the optical engine and light source can operate reliably within a real system architecture, marks a significant step forward in our collaboration. Together, we are accelerating CPO deployment at scale, helping hyperscalers build high-bandwidth, more power-efficient, and more scalable AI infrastructure.”
Live Demonstration Highlights:
Wiwynn will showcase a full spectrum of forward-looking cooling innovations, from on-package cooling and advanced materials to system-level lightweight design, demonstrating its commitment to breaking through the physical limits of traditional cooling architectures.
- Silicon-to-System Optical Integration: Wiwynn’s system architecture integrates GUC’s MCP with Ayar Labs’ TeraPHY OEs paired with ELSFP-based high-power SuperNova light sources, into an ORV3-ready compute system.
- OE Telemetry and System Health Monitoring: Real-time optical engine telemetry gives data centers visibility into system status, strengthening reliability at scale.
- Stability Metrics Under Live Operation: As the tuning subsystem tracks thermal and wavelength drift (TX heater activity), key eye metrics (eye height, OMA, ER) hold steady alongside OE and ELSFP temperatures.
- Advanced Cooling Solution: Wiwynn’s system-level cooling architecture supports stable operation of optical power under real-world conditions.
- Detachable FAU and In-Chassis Fiber Routing: Demonstration of serviceability and manufacturability at the compute system level.
Deepening Collaboration to Accelerate CPO Commercialization
“AI is driving the industry toward an optically-connected future, and the bar is no longer whether it works; it’s whether it can be deployed and managed at scale,” said Mark Wade, CEO and co-founder of Ayar Labs. “This demonstration with Wiwynn and GUC is about proving integration and operability in a real platform, and giving data center teams the data they’ll need to adopt CPO with confidence. We’re proud to work with Wiwynn and GUC to make the next generation of AI infrastructure deployable at hyperscale.”
“Integrating optical I/O directly into chip design, and proving its functionality through live system-level demonstration, is a significant achievement in our collaboration with Wiwynn and Ayar Labs,” said Sean Tai, President of GUC. “This cross-layer collaborative approach allows us to incorporate system requirements earlier in the chip design phase, significantly shortening the development cycle from silicon innovation to system readiness, and providing our customers with a definitive advantage in the global AI race.”
Looking Ahead
AI infrastructure is shifting toward optical-electrical convergence. This demonstration shows CPO has progressed from architectural validation to system-level functional proof, laying a solid foundation for hyperscale adoption. The three companies will continue deepening their collaboration, driving CPO from validation toward high-volume deployment.
