- The ToF is based on the speed of light. An emitter sends photons that are reflected by the target and detected by the receiver.
- The time difference between the transmitter signal and the received signal provides the actual distance of the target in mm with high accuracy.

- It uses a laser to emit infrared light where the light produced will bounce off any object and return to the sensor.
- Based on the time difference between the emission of the light and its return to the sensor after being reflected by an object, the sensor can measure the distance between the object and the sensor.
