Near field communication

 Introduction

Near field communication is a short range high frequency wireless communication technology. A radio communication is established by touching the two phones or keeping them in a proximity of a few centimeters. It  is mainly aimed for mobile and handheld devices. It  is an extension of radio frequency identification and rfid technology. It is  used mainly for rfid tracking and identification by sending radio waves.

in 2004, nfc forum was formed by nokia, philips, sony to set the standard of nfc. Every nfc enabled device will have the n-mark trademark, developed by nfc forum. In 2006 the first mobile phone nokia 6131 with nfc was released by nokia. In 2010 the first android phone samsung nexus s with nfc support was released.

operating frequency 13.56 mhz and data rate 106 kbit/s to 424 kbit/s. Nfc uses an initiator and a target, then the initiator actively generates an rf field that can power a passive target.
