In Dietikon, duagon develops and manufactures products for communication technology in train automation and offers the broadest portfolio on the market for this purpose. duagon products are used in almost every train worldwide – partly as components of subsystems such as doors and air conditioning systems, partly as central train computer units, and partly in network communication: they control and manage the data flow for safety-critical systems such as brakes, switch settings, and signaling. They also function as central processing units for train control and the provision of information, for example in passenger information systems. The products enable stable data exchange and reliable data processing – both on the track and on the train, as well as in train-to-ground communication. Thanks to its extensive experience and technological expertise, duagon is able to cover all central electronic requirements in railway technology, including cybersecurity, functional safety, ETCS (European Train Control System), and the technical modernization of existing fleets. duagon on its way to becoming a global embedded brand

The company was founded in September 1995, when the railway industry was establishing the Multifunction Vehicle Bus (MVB) as the new fieldbus standard for data communication in rail vehicles. Railway manufacturers therefore required their suppliers to provide MVB interfaces so that door, brake, and drive systems could be integrated into the train network. duagon then developed MVB cards for subsystem manufacturers that could be easily integrated into their products and met all requirements in accordance with standards. Thanks to its large portfolio, the industry specialist quickly established itself in the global railway market and began supplying China, India, and other countries at an early stage.

In 2017, duagon gained Deutsche Beteiligungs AG as an investor and acquired three other industry leaders from Germany, Spain, and Australia in the following years. By integrating these specialists, the brand now offers the most comprehensive product and technology portfolio for the railway industry, with complete solutions and components such as interface cards, gateways, embedded computing cards, computer systems, and accompanying software development.
