RRP Electronics has taken a major step toward strengthening India’s semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem by securing 101 acres of land in Maharashtra for a large semiconductor campus. The Navi Mumbai–based company plans to invest more than ₹36,000 crore to develop the facility in the Khalapur Phase-3 and Expansion Industrial Area. The project will be built in phases and is expected to become one of the significant private semiconductor infrastructure initiatives in the country.
The proposed campus will host multiple semiconductor assembly and test lines along with advanced wafer-level packaging units. These facilities will support key sectors such as automotive electronics, telecommunications, industrial applications and consumer electronics. The integrated design of the campus is aimed at bringing several semiconductor manufacturing processes under one location, improving efficiency and enabling future expansion.
The development will take place in two phases. The first phase involves an investment of around ₹12,000 crore focused on building assembly, testing and packaging capabilities. The second phase, estimated at about ₹24,000 crore, will further expand manufacturing capacity and strengthen the company’s position in the semiconductor value chain.
The initiative aligns with India’s broader push to build a domestic semiconductor ecosystem under national programs promoting self-reliance in electronics manufacturing. Once operational, the campus could help attract suppliers and technology partners, contributing to the growth of a semiconductor cluster in Maharashtra.
