London, UK – Thursday 21st August 2025 – Motorsport champion, multiple Guinness World Record holder, and celebrated stunt driver Paul Swift will be appearing at Microelectronics UK, the two-day exhibition and conference taking place on 24–25 September 2025 at Excel London.
Paul will join the show exclusively on opening day, 24 September, where he’ll take to the stage in an exclusive session with Electronics Weekly’s Editor Caroline Hayes, offering a behind-the-scenes look at his career spanning motorsport championships, stunt driving for Top Gear and Fast & Furious, and engineering precision driving sequences for global events.
Best known to millions of fans as “The Stig” from Top Gear Live, Paul’s impressive career extends far beyond the helmet. From choreographing 72 classic cars into the Union Jack for the 2022 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony, to working as a stunt double for David Beckham, Lewis Hamilton, Jeremy Clarkson and James Corden, his portfolio showcases a rare blend of technical expertise, showmanship, and creative vision.
Throughout Microelectronics UK, Paul will also challenge attendees to race him in a cutting-edge driving simulator, giving visitors the chance to put their skills to the test against one of the world’s most accomplished stunt drivers.
Paul began his stunt career at just seven years old, performing in his father Russ’s stunt team in a miniature car. A qualified engineer, he balanced a professional career with weekend motorsport competition before claiming seven British titles and over 100 outright competition wins. In 2004, he left engineering to lead the Ford Display Team, and went on to head the Top Gear Live Stunt Driving Team for over a decade, performing to millions worldwide.
“We’re excited to bring Paul’s unique blend of motorsport expertise, engineering insight, and live entertainment to Microelectronics UK,” said Michael Adeniya, Group Event Director at Microelectronics UK. “His career bridges precision engineering and performance – a perfect match for our audience.”
Microelectronics UK is the first national exhibition and conference dedicated to the entire microelectronics value chain, uniting more than 3,000 engineers, developers, academics, and business leaders from across semiconductors, photonics, and embedded systems. The two-day event will feature:
  • 100+ expert speakers across three content stages
  • 100+ exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge solutions and technologies
  •  A Skills Zone offering careers guidance, mentoring, and hands-on workshops
  •  A Startup Launchpad spotlighting next-generation innovators and investment opportunities
Blending a vibrant exhibition floor with world-class conference content, the show offers a one-of-a-kind meeting point where the UK’s electronics community can exchange ideas, discover innovations, and build business.
