Advantages:

There are some advantages of LED which are given below,

  • The LED is ideal for operation under cold and low outdoor temperature setting.
  • It has good adaptability to coherent laser operation.
  • LED is available in verity of colors.
  • The LED has light immunity to external noise.
  • The LED is more reliable.
  • It has long life compared to lamps.
  • It has low voltage operation, making them compatible with integrated circuits.

Disadvantages:

There are some disadvantages of LED which are given below,

  • The radiant output power and its wavelength are temperature dependent.
  • It is liable to get damaged by over voltage or over current.
  • The LED is more expensive.
