India’s electronics industry is on the cusp of transformation, with demand across mobile, automotive, energy, and healthcare accelerating at record pace. Moglix, under the leadership of founder and CEO Rahul Garg, is shaping this journey by creating resilient, technology-led procurement ecosystems. In this exclusive conversation with SemiconductorForu, Rahul shares how Moglix is strengthening India’s semiconductor and electronics supply chains.
Q1. India’s electronics industry is projected to grow at 26% CAGR. How do you see Moglix playing a pivotal role in this growth story?
Rahul Garg: India’s electronics journey is moving from assembly-driven to value-added and resilient supply chains. Moglix is digitising procurement, enabling authenticated components, financing solutions, and reducing lead times. With our platform, we aim to integrate suppliers, design houses, and testing labs into a seamless Self-Reliant Bharat ecosystem.
Q2. Could you share more about recently onboarded suppliers and how this strengthens your platform?
Rahul Garg: We’ve onboarded 50+ brands, including SCHURTER, Silan Microelectronics, and MoMAGIC. Authorised sourcing reduces fragmentation and counterfeit risks, while our technical support and part-suggestion services empower buyers to make informed decisions. This strengthens trust and creates a seamless digital bridge between global suppliers and Indian manufacturers.
Q3. What are Moglix’s plans for new suppliers in semiconductors, automotive, and medical sectors?
Rahul Garg: We’re deepening supplier networks in strategic sectors by forging direct global ties and supporting Indian SMEs in certification readiness. Financing and preferred-seller programmes ease capital pressures, ensuring suppliers can scale. The goal is a trusted ecosystem where global and local suppliers coexist to serve India’s ambitions.
Q4. How does Moglix enable enterprises to manage risks with lead time and cost challenges?
Rahul Garg: We combine forecasting, regional fulfilment, and vendor-managed inventory with Credlix financing and digital integration. This ensures components stay closer to demand, suppliers scale faster, and enterprises avoid sourcing errors. It’s a three-layered approach—operational, financial, and digital—that reduces cycle times and enhances resilience.
Q5. What opportunities and challenges lie ahead for India’s electronics and semiconductor ecosystem?
Rahul Garg: Opportunities are immense—driven by EVs, renewables, medical devices, and consumer electronics, aided by government incentives. Challenges include capital intensity, certification demands, and long-term localisation dependencies. Moglix’s role is to accelerate today’s achievable goals while acting as a bridge for global partnerships where localisation will take longer.
Q6. How do you envision Moglix’s role over the next five years?
Rahul Garg: Moglix will evolve into India’s industrial backbone, deepening catalogues, embedding finance and logistics, and driving supplier quality and sustainability. By integrating procurement, compliance, and design-led sourcing, we will help Indian enterprises move confidently up the global value chain.
