Top 3 Groundbreaking Technologies in 2021 post COVID-19

In 2020, there is no uncertainty that the Covid-19 pandemic has affected the worldwide economy as well as the movement of technology advances and new product improvement in different businesses. Regardless of these postponements, there have been various new advancements, driving technology trends across various technologies, including artificial intelligence, 5G and internet of things (IoT).

These emerging technologies as well as other existing advances have driven the manner in which organizations have taken to progress and execute their digital transformation consistently. The article, therefore, promises to give detailed information of these tech trends along with their survey.

Biggest tech trend -Artificial Intelligence (AI)

AIis undoubtedly one of the biggest tech trends at the moment, and during 2021 it will become an even more valuable tool for helping us to interpret and understand the world around us. The volume of data we are collecting on healthcare, infection rates, and the success of measures we take to prevent the spread of infection will continue to increase. This means that machine learning algorithms will become better informed and increasingly sophisticated in the solutions they uncover for us.

From computer visionsystems monitoring the capacity of public areas to analyzing the interactions uncovered through contact tracing initiatives, self-learning algorithms will spot connections and insights that would go unnoticed by manual human analysis. They will help us predict demand for services from hospitals and other healthcare providers, and allow administrators to make better decisions about when and where to deploy resources.

For business, the challenge will be to understand the changing patterns of customer behavior. More human activity will take place online – from shopping and socializing to virtual working environments, meetings, and recruitment. During 2021 we can expect the tools we use to analyze these behavioral shifts to become more sophisticated and increasingly fit the budget and infrastructure requirements of more and more organizations.

5G and enhanced connectivity

All that discussion and publicity around 5G will turn out to be real in 2021. 5G is the 5th generation mobile network. It is a new global wireless standard after 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G networks. 5G enables a new kind of network that is designed to connect virtually everyone and everything together including machines, objects, and devices. 5G wireless technology is meant to deliver higher multi-Gbps peak data speeds, ultra- low latency, more reliability, massive network capacity, increased availability, and a more uniform user experience to more users. Higher performance and improved efficiency empower new user experiences and connects new industries.

The requirement for a reliable and fast connection became earnest a couple of months earlier. At the point when digital collaboration, telecommunication and videoconferencing turned into a part of our lives, we needed to get approaches to boost speed.

It was at that point clear enough for telecommunication companies that 5G was the best approach. The arrangement of this innovation will be significant for various tools like IoT. About 51% of organizations utilizing IoT have noticed an improved insight into customer needs, practices, and inclinations.

Life Changing Internet of things

The Internet of Things, or IoT, refers to the billions of physical devices around the world that are connected to the internet, all collecting and sharing data. It is a system of interrelated, internet-connected objects that are able to collect and transfer data over a wireless network without human intervention.

Basically, the Internet of Things (IoT) is changing how we live, work, travel, and do business. It is even the basis of a new industrial transformation, known as Industry 4.0, and key in the digital transformation of organizations, cities, and society overall. The benefits of the IoT for business depend on the particular implementation; agility and efficiency which are usually top considerations.

Survey of Top 3 tech trends

As per the study conducted by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), it has been concluded that machine learning (MI), and artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) is going to be the most significant technologies of 2021. In this ‘IEEE 2020 Global Survey of CIOs and CTOs’, about 350 CTOs or CIOs were surveyed in the United States, United Kingdom, India, Brazil, and China between 21 September and 9 October 2020.

The study was conducted concerning leading technologies for 2021, the pandemic’s impact on the speed at which technology is being adapted, and also the industries which are anticipated to be impacted to the maximum by technology. When surveyed regarding which would be the main technologies for 2021, about 32% of the respondents chose ML, and AI, 20% of the respondents chose 5G, and 14% of the respondents chose IoT.

The Chief Technology Officers (CTOs) and Chief Information Officers (CIOs) who were surveyed revealed that as per them the manufacturing (19%), financial services (15%), healthcare (18%), and education (13%) are the industries that would get most impacted by technology. About 52% of CIOs and CTOs also concluded that their mammoth task would be to deal with the COVID-19 recovery aspects with regards to business operations.

Technology Adoption, Acceleration and Disaster Preparedness due to COVID-19

CIOs and CTOs surveyed have sped up adopting some technologies due to the pandemic:

●        More than half (55%) of respondents have accelerated adoption of cloud computing

●        52% have accelerated 5G adoption

●        51% have accelerated AI and machine learning

The adoption of IoT (42%), augmented and virtual reality (35%) and video conferencing (35%) technologies have also been accelerated due to the global pandemic.

Compared to a year ago, CIOs and CTOs overwhelmingly (92%) believe their company is better prepared to respond to a potentially catastrophic interruption such as a data breach or natural disaster. What’s more, of those who say they’re better prepared, 58% strongly agree that COVID-19 accelerated their preparedness.

When asked which technologies will have the greatest impact on global COVID-19 recovery, one in four (25%) of those surveyed said AI and machine learning.

In a nutshell, AI, 5G and IOT are the topmost technology trends for 2021.
