In 1960, logic gates known as the 7400 series were commonly available as ICs. The 7400 series integrated circuits were one of the most popular. 7400 series is the family (collection) of digital IC. This series is introduced by “Texas Instruments”. Texas Instruments ICs come with the prefix “SN” to create the name “SN74XX”.

7400

The 7400, is a 14-pin IC. It is a NAND gate IC. There are four two-input NAND gates. Each gate uses two input pins and one output pin, with the remaining two pins being power (+5 V) and ground.

7402

7402 IC has four NOR gates. Each gate has two inputs and one output. It is also a 14 pin IC, so the other two pins are of Vcc and ground (GND). 7402 packaging can be of plastic small outline, ceramic chip carriers, flat packages, plastic and ceramic DIPs. The SN7402, SN74LS02, and SN74S02 are characterized for operation from 0°C to 70°C.

7404

7404 is also a 14 pin IC. There are a total of 6 NOT gates in 7404 with only one input and one output. It consists of six inverters that perform logical invert action. When the input is high its output is low and when input is low its output is high. It is used to output the Boolean inverse of the applied input. Hence it is also called as Digital Inverter’ or ‘Inverting buffer’.

7410

it is also a 14 pin IC. In this IC, there is 3 triple NAND gate, that means 3 NAND gate with 3 input and one Output. Output is directly Interface with CMOS, NMOS, and TTL. It has a large operating Voltage range with wide operating conditions.

7432

It is an OR gate IC with 14 pins. There are four OR gates with 2 inputs and one output and the other two are supply voltage and ground pin. It will give high if either all or any of the input is high. The OR gates are made of a Schottky Transistor of low power.
