Tessenderlo-Ham, Belgium, 13 January 2026 – Melexis is pleased to announce that Leapers Semiconductor, a global manufacturer of advanced power semiconductor modules, is incorporating the Melexis MLX91299 silicon-based RC snubber into its next-generation modules. This implementation shows how close cooperation between module manufacturers and semiconductor specialists can translate innovation into tangible system-level benefits for automotive and energy management applications.

Leapers’ power modules are widely used in demanding environments such as electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, renewable energy systems, and industrial power conversion. To meet the market’s requirements for higher efficiency, power density, and reliability, these modules increasingly rely on silicon carbide (SiC) power devices operating at higher switching frequencies and voltages. However, fully realizing the benefits of SiC requires careful management of voltage overshoot, ringing, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) at the module level – challenges that can limit performance if not addressed.

Leapers selected the Melexis MLX91299 silicon RC snubber to address these effects directly within the module. Unlike traditional discrete RC snubbers applied externally, the MLX91299 is an integrated silicon RC device, combining a resistor and capacitor on a single bare die. Placed close to the switching components, it suppresses voltage spikes and high-frequency oscillations, maintains efficient thermal paths, and supports high-temperature operation. This allows Leapers to fully leverage SiC performance and efficiency while keeping compact layouts and enhancing overall module robustness. The bare-die snubber is also fully compatible with Leapers’ existing assembly and testing processes, ensuring predictable performance and smooth production integration.

From Leapers Semiconductor

“Melexis’ snubber acts as a booster for new-generation power semiconductor devices. It significantly enhances performance and reliability while addressing numerous challenges in module applications,” said Xuanming Ding, CEO of Leapers. “Building on our cooperation, we leveraged precise market positioning and optimized engineering to swiftly launch a SiC power module with an integrated RC snubber. This solution benefits end-customers by driving energy conversion efficiency and quality in the electrification era.”

From Melexis

“Our MLX91299 bare-die RC snubber represents a major step forward in module-level integration of SiC snubber devices,” said Billy Ye, Product Line Director at Melexis. “Leapers’ integration into its state-of-the-art next-generation power modules demonstrates how this technology can boost SiC performance and reliability. Fully compatible with standard assembly processes, it also enables predictable performance and smooth adoption in production, helping deliver high-efficiency, high-reliability power modules for automotive and industrial applications worldwide.”

Leapers’ pioneering implementation validates the integration of Melexis silicon-based RC snubbers into advanced power modules, demonstrating how the MLX91299 can elevate the performance and reliability of high-efficiency power technologies across automotive and industrial markets.
