Advantages:

There are some advantages of thermister is given below,

  • The thermister has good sensitivity in NTC region.
  • It has fast response over narrow temperature range.
  • Contact and lead resistance problems not occurred due to large resistance.
  • The thermistor is small in size.
  • Cost is low.

Disadvantages:

There are some disadvantages of thermister is given below,

  • The thermister is not suitable for large temperature range.
  • The resistance temperature characteristics are non linear.
  • The thermistor need shielding power lines.
  • The excitation current should be low to avoid self heating.
