Monheim am Rhein, Germany – March 20th, 2024

SEGGER announces that ST’s tools STM32CubeProgrammer and STM32CubeMonitor are now seamlessly integrated with SEGGER’s J-Link debug probes.

This collaboration marks a strategic alignment between two industry leaders, enhancing capabilities for developers working with STM32 products.

The STM32CubeProgrammer is a comprehensive software tool tailored for programming STM32 devices. It streamlines the process of reading, writing, and verifying device memory, simplifying the development workflow for STM32-based embedded systems.

In addition, the STM32CubeMonitor tool family can be used for real-time fine-tuning and diagnostics of STM32 applications. Its flow-based graphical editor enables the creation of customized dashboards, complete with widgets such as gauges and plots.

“Adding J-Link support to our STM32CubeProgrammer and STM32CubeMonitor reflects our dedication to providing developers with a comprehensive and flexible ecosystem,” says Laurent Hanus, Microcontroller Ecosystem Marketing Manager at ST. “Its inclusion underscores the importance of J-Link in advancing embedded development, and we are excited to offer this capability to our user base.”

“This collaboration with ST allows organizations that already use J-Links to start working immediately with the latest ST tools,” says Dirk Akemann, Marketing Manager at SEGGER. “Support for all new ST MCUs is available from day one and developers have the choice of using ST or SEGGER software.”

SEGGER J-Links are the most widely used line of debug probes on the market. They provide an unparalleled debug experience using capabilities fine-tuned for software development and production. Features include high-performance flashloaders, up to 4 MB/s download speed, and the ability to set an unlimited number of breakpoints in the flash memory of MCUs.
