TDK Corporation (TSE:6762) announces a series of 10BASE-T1L plug-and-play test boards, called EVB-DLA-00x. The series is available in six different power classes to match the Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) evaluation boards EVAL-ADIN1100EBZ and EVAL-ADIN1110EBZ from Analog Devices. SPE technology makes it easier than ever to create Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Industry 4.0 networks by providing seamless Ethernet-based connectivity all the way from individual sensors to the cloud.

The Ethernet protocol 10BASE-T1L allows data rates of up to 10 Mbps and distances of up to 1000 m while supplying power simultaneously; this is known as Power over Data Line (PoDL). TDK offers various inductors for these applications including common-mode chokes (CMCs), isolation inductors (ICI), and differential mode inductors (DMIs).

These three component types are now implemented in TDK’s daughter boards which can be plugged into the prototyping connectors of the evaluation boards from Analog Devices and can be used for feed currents up to 1810 mA for the different APL and IEEE 802.3cg-2019 Power Class requirements. With these daughter boards, designers of industrial and building automation applications can start their development with the evaluation boards from Analog Devices right away.

Main applications

  • Industrial automation
  • Process automation
  • Building automation
