Skyworks Solutions Inc of Woburn, MA, USA (which manufactures analog and mixed-signal semiconductors) has launched its SKY13698-694LF ultra-low-loss double-pole double-throw (DPDT) switch, which is designed for smartphones, data cards, and MiFi hotspots.

The new device delivers what is claimed to be the lowest-insertion-loss, high-isolation antenna swap DPDT switch on the market. With low insertion loss across all cellular bands, the switch maintains isolation >30dB at 3.8GHz, preventing signal leakage and mitigating Rx desense issues. Its wide frequency range of 0.4-5.9GHz makes it the first cellular antenna swap device to support emerging, new high-band applications such as LAA/LTE-U and sub-6GHz. Also, the SKY13698-694LF’s harmonic and linearity offers robust GSM power handling capability.

The DPDT switch is provided in a compact quad flat no-lead (QFN) 1.83mm x 1.83mm x 0.5mm package, and no external matching components are required.
