Solid Sands B.V., the world-leading provider of testing and qualification technology for compilers and libraries, has partnered with Indian embedded and electronics engineering company GSAS Micro Systems to provide local access and engineering support for its SuperTest compiler test and validation suite, and SuperGuard library safety qualification suite.

Headquartered in Bengaluru, GSAS Micro Systems works with embedded engineering teams across India, with expertise spanning embedded software development, functional safety and compliance, electronic design tools and engineering services. Its functional safety activities include tool qualification and support for standards including ISO 26262, IEC 61508 and DO-178C.

Solid Sands provides technology for qualifying the toolchain actually used in safety critical projects. SuperTest supports many compiler configurations, including open-source and legacy compilers, while SuperGuard provides requirements-based qualification of C and C++ standard library implementations.

Marianne Damstra, CEO of Solid Sands, comments: “India has a substantial embedded software and semiconductor engineering community, including organizations developing safety- and mission-critical systems. Compiler and library qualification is a specialist field, so it was important for us to work with a partner that combines knowledge of development tools with practical functional safety expertise. GSAS gives us that expertise on the ground and an established engineering presence across India.”

Founded in Bengaluru in 2010, GSAS Micro Systems supports engineering teams in the automotive, aerospace and defense, semiconductor and industrial sectors. The company provides local application engineering, integration support and technical training and has engineering and commercial operations across major Indian technology centers.

Anvesh Gopalam, Executive Director, GSAS Group, comments: “Qualification cannot be separated from the toolchain and configuration actually used to build the application. Solid Sands adds specialist compiler and standard library qualification technology to the tools and functional safety expertise we already provide, enabling us to support Indian development teams with objective evidence about the C and C++ toolchains they depend on.”

Solid Sands’ technology is used for compiler and library qualification across automotive, industrial robotics and semiconductor development. Existing use cases include ISO 26262-compliant automotive development and IEC 61508-compliant industrial applications, as well as compiler quality assurance in the semiconductor industry.
